The beginnings of insomnia start in the mind, as do most of our problems or issues.It may be causing physical symptoms, but they come from a basic lack of sleep which the body needs for various reasons, both physical and spiritual.
Very simply put, insomnia is the result or symptom of an over active mind. Overactive in the sense that one worries, has fears, carries the past around or suffers from guilt to an excess.
These thoughts are not in your conscious mind, but in the subconscious.
Everything is stored in the subconscious mind, and until you reprogram it in order to allow the release of unwanted or unneeded worry, fear, tension and anxiety and guilt nothing will change.
